Nine Multiplier events will maximise UCCRN_edu impact and outreach at a global scale and the potential future employment of students in multiple sectors worldwide. Local government institutions and community organization will actively support the implementation of Multiplier Events, allowing students to confront with concrete challenges related to climate change and cities in different geographical and institutional contexts.

1 Climate-Resilient Urban Planning, Design and Governance:
a methodological framework for implementation, Paris

The first UCCRN_edu Multiplier Event will take place in Paris, hosted by Sorbonne University and the UCCRN_edu Associated Partners UCCRN-Europe. The event will be supported by major associated partners, UCCRN Global and Regional Hubs, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, Climate Chance, Cité-ID – Urban Resilience Governance, invited to present ongoing and planned initiatives where synergies and potential partnerships with UCCRN_edu can be envisaged. The event will be connected to the Paris UDCW, taking place in Paris from May 28 to June 3, hosted by Université Gustave Eiffel.

2 UCCRN_edu: Educational resources to streamline climate-resilient urban governance, planning and
design, New York

The second UCCRN_edu Multiplier Event will take place in New York hosted by the Associated Partners Urban Climate Change Research Network, Columbia University and New York Institute of Technology. It will present the UCCRN_edu project in detail to the UCCRN community, so to maximise the involvement of UCCRN members in UCCRN_edu activities, as well as discussing the opportunity of implementing further joint educational activities.

4 Urban climate resilience knowledge alliance: UCCRN_edu in the context of Global educational and

The fourth UCCRN_edu Multiplier Event will take place in Bonn, in connection with “Daring Cities 2022 – The Global Virtual Forum for Urban Leaders Taking on the Climate Emergency”. The Multiplier Event will take the form of a special session at ICLEI’s event, mainly focusing on the educational and design-support tools developed within UCCRN-EDU.

6 Urban Resilience Governance: Transdisciplinary knowledge-sharing, multi-stakeholders capacity building and co-design methods, Montreal

The sixth UCCRN_edu Multiplier Event will take place in April 2023 in Montreal (Canada), in connection with the meeting of the Urban Science Advice group of the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA). The Multiplier Event will be hosted by the UCCRN_edu Associated Partner Cité-Id Living Lab – Urban Resilience Governance, and will be the opportunity to establish high-level dissemination and networking channels at a middle stage of the project through INGSA network.

The seventh UCCRN_edu Multiplier Event will take place in Pisa, in connection with the International Summer School “Governing climate resilient cities. Challenges, opportunities and best practices”, promoted by UN Habitat and the University of Pisa. The Multiplier Event will be hosted by University of Pisa and the Associated Partner UCCRN-Europe, and will be the opportunity to present the results of the first almost two years of the project.

8 UCCRN_edu Operational tools: Supporting climate-resilient governance, planning and design of cities through science and community knowledge, Ahmedabad

The eighth UCCRN-EDU Multiplier Event will take place in Ahmedabad (or Mumbai), in connection with the third edition of the International Urban Design Workshop “Climate-Resilient Cities in the Global South”, to be organized with the support of UCCRN. The Multiplier Event will be hosted by the Associated Partner Ahmedabad University and the UCCRN South Asian Hub, and will be the opportunity to test the replication potential of UCCRN_edu tools and practices in South Asia.

9 UCCRN_edu, Building a permanent Strategic Higher Education Partnership for Climate-Resilient Urban Planning, Design and Governance, Bruxelles

The final UCCRN_edu Multiplier Event will take place in late October 2024 in Bruxelles, hosted by an European Commission Institution, also in connection of a broader relevant event focused on Strategic Partnership for Higher Education and European Universities organized by the Commission. All the UCCRN_edu partners and Associated Partners will participate (physically or virtually) to the event, including EU Universities and University Alliances representatives.
