Integrated Climate Adaptation Service Tools for Improving Resilience Measure Efficiency
Chantal Pacteau, Co-Director of the UCCRN European Hub, is member of the Advisory Board of the Horizon 2020 Project CLARITY Integrated Climate Adaptation Service Tools for Improving Resilience Measure Efficiency.
It is Coordinated by Denis Havlik from the Austrian Institute of Technology – AIT, and with the participation of the UCCRN partner University of Naples Federico II (www.plinivs.it, www.diarc.unina.it)

Urban areas and the infrastructures that connect them are highly exposed to climate change. To enhance resilience, CLARITY will build on previous EU projects (SUDPLAN, CRISMA) and co-create, together with end-users and climate intelligence providers, an integrated Climate Services Information System (CSIS) designed to support resilient urban infrastructure planning.
CLARITY will deliver a cloud-based climate services ecosystem able to assess climate-change-induced hazards in terms of risk, vulnerability and impact. It will also offer what-if decision support tools to evaluate adaptation measures and compare alternative strategies. Four Demonstration Cases in Italy, Sweden, Austria and Spain will illustrate the system’s application in diverse climatic and infrastructural contexts.
Ultimately, CLARITY will enable decision makers to integrate climate hazard impacts and adaptation strategies into infrastructure planning, supporting climate-proof and adaptive urban development.
